What does «resurgimiento urbano» mean in Spanish?
- A process that took place in Europe during the late Middle Ages, between the 10th and 15th centuries, where the population and commercial importance of the cities progressively increased. These first resurgent cities were called burghs because they were cities specialized in commerce and independent of the fiefs. The burghs were human groupings of local character, endowed with franchises and privileges and, generally, fortified.
