What does «compacidad» mean in Spanish?
- Quality of compact; compactness. The condition or character of a thing or material that is compact, dense, not very porous, or with the components in close proximity to each other.
Examples of use in Spanish: "la nueva versión de este automóvil tiene una mayor compacidad general".
"Este dispositivo destaca por su compacidad".
- Geog. Urban compactness. The level of urban compactness is the ratio between the usable space of buildings (volume) and the space occupied by the urban surface (area). The higher the level of compactness, the greater the urban proximity, contact and interconnection between citizens (this is the case of classical Mediterranean cities and is copied in many Latin American cities).
- Compactness theorem. Possibly infinite set of well-formed formulas of first-order logic has a model if all its finite subsets have a model.
- Degree of density of a given material, the higher the compactness, the lower the porosity.
