What does «tecnografía» mean in Spanish?
- A multimedia presentation (graphics, text and/or sound) that tells a personal story; in education it is usually an autobiography using digitized photographs, music, video and voice. Also called digital personal narrative.
- Observation, description, and the study of technologies, industrial arts, and sciences in their application, especially in a particular social, geographical, ethnic, or historical context. Technography has recently been proposed as an interdisciplinary methodology for the detailed study of the use of skills, tools, knowledge and techniques in everyday life. This paper argues that technography is a useful methodological approach for the integrative study of socio-technical configurations. Technography focuses on how teams or networks of farmers, technicians and engineers, among other actors, solve problems. Key features of the technographic approach are discussed, using examples drawn from agricultural production.
