What does «roldana» mean in Spanish?
- The chute or wheel through which the rope of a pulley runs; also called a sheave (from a pulley or pulley block). A sheave is a pulley with a grooved (slotted) wheel for holding a belt, cable or rope. The grooved wheel rotates on a shaft or bearing inside the block frame. This allows the cable to move freely, minimizing friction and wear on the cable. Sheaves can be used to redirect a cable or rope, lift loads and transmit power.
