What does «receptación» mean in Spanish?
- In law, it is the act of acquiring, receiving, transporting, carrying or concealing, for one's own benefit or for the benefit of others, something known to be the proceeds of a crime, or influencing a third party, in good faith, to acquire, receive or conceal it. Receipt may also result from the knowingly knowingly benefiting from something that is the proceeds of a crime or offense. For example, the purchase of stolen goods from a third party or, more generally, in the purchase of goods resulting from a crime of any type and entity. The offense of receiving stolen goods is not limited to the case where a person acquires an object stolen elsewhere (whether or not aware that it is of illicit origin), but also includes the case where the person acts on his own behalf or on behalf of others to conceal that object (e.g. by hiding it in his own home or in the home of an acquaintance). The offense of receiving is therefore a predicate offense. This preceding crime must be a crime directed against the patrimonial or socio-economic order.
