What does «prehomínidos» mean in Spanish?
- A group of primates from the end of the Quaternary era (beginning 2.59 million years ago, according to current consensus), intermediate between the anthropoid ape and man, classified within the now-defunct family Prehominidae. It is not a term with clear limits. Prehominids emerged in the first stage of human evolution (about 7 million years ago). Their features are reminiscent of great apes, but they also possess humanoid characteristics.
