What does «alografía» mean in Spanish?
- Writing with different script characters. It occurs, for example, when a script is assimilated by another language.
- Variant that a spelling can adopt. Each of these variants is called "allograph". It is also called alternation. For example, the word "cebiche" that in the Dictionary of the Royal Spanish Academy also appears as ceviche, sebiche and seviche, with the same definition. Also cases of allography are the oral bilabial sonorous phoneme /b/ that can be written as "b" or as "v" and that the voiceless velar fricative /x/ in front of E and I is represented indistinctly with "g" and with "j".
