What does «aducto de ADN» mean in Spanish?
- DNA adducts are forms of DNA that result from exposure to carcinogens. DNA adducts are useful as early biomarkers of cancer, i.e. they serve to detect cancer in patients. Quantitative determination of chemically altered DNA by adduct formation is generally not easy, due to the small concentrations of these compounds, the efficiency of biological repair mechanisms, the dilution of the adducts by cell division and the difficulty of highlighting human DNA.
