What does «adaptación social» mean in Spanish?
- The process by which an individual or group of individuals change their behavior to conform to the rules or norms that prevail in the social environment. In other words, social adaptation is the relationship of an individual or group with the environment that favors their survival and existence; also a process, active or passive, to achieve it. The term is not very precise because it can refer to both: the state and the process. Most often it refers to the biological characteristics (structural and functional) by which an organism fits into its environment. As a social term, adaptation refers to the end result of these modifications or to the condition of being adapted.
