- Sausage prepared in pork casings cut into thin strips that are seasoned and braided to fill the animal's thin guts. Traditionally they were dried in the sun. It was often used in the cooking of stewed beans and red bean sancochos. Native to the eastern region of the Dominican Republic. Its production has been decreasing since the late 1960s.
