What does «sabalero» mean in Spanish?
- Tarpon fisherman (South American fish).
- Name given to the fan or supporter of the Club Atlético Colón soccer team from the city of Santa Fe (Argentina), also known as colonista. Its historical rival is the unionista or tatengue. There are two versions about the adoption of this nickname. The first one indicates that the ground where the founders of this club played and also its supporters were mostly shad fishermen. Another version suggests that, after the great flood of 1906 in the city of Santa Fe, the field where the colonists played was under water and the shad were taken by the fishermen from the field itself.
