- The principle of gratuity consists of providing all persons with access to the Courts in order to seek satisfaction of their own claims, without personal economic conditions being able to restrict such right. The principle of gratuity is one of the founding principles of the very notion of justice. The principle of gratuity implies that the administration of justice is not onerous, that is, it has no cost, in such a way that any person, without the need for money, may have access to it, without prejudice to the payment of costs, expenses and fines established in the code and administrative provisions of the Judiciary.
