What does «mimeógrafo» mean in Spanish?
- Multicopier to reproduce text or figures. The stencil duplicator or mimeograph machine is a low-cost duplicating machine that works by forcing ink through a stencil onto paper. The mimeographic process should not be confused with the alcohol duplicating process. Mimeographs, along with alcohol duplicators and hectographs, were a common technology in small quantity printing, such as in office work, classroom materials and church bulletins. Early fanzines (fan magazine) were printed with this technology, because it was widespread and inexpensive. In the late 1960s, mimeographs, alcohol duplicators and hoctographs began to be gradually displaced by the photocopier.
