What does «miel de palo» mean in Spanish?
- Wild honey, which is produced in small quantities. It is extracted from the natural nests made by melipona bees in hollow tree trunks. Unlike commercial honey, this honey is made by bees using a greater variety of flowers; it has a lighter body and color. Some even highlight its better taste and attribute medicinal properties to it, being therefore used to treat nose, lungs, throat, ear, eyes, and even wounds, inflammations and burns.
