What does «maese» mean in Spanish?
- Old variant of "maestro" (specialist or connoisseur of a technical knowledge). It was used as a way of treating a master of any trade with respect by placing it before his or her name. In some regions of Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador and Spain it is still used.
