What does «lentejuela» mean in Spanish?
- Usually round plastic, metal or glass lamella that is placed in the fabric of a dress or other fabrics to make it shine or as an ornament. In earlier centuries they were made of shiny metals. Today, sequins are made of plastic. They are available in a wide variety of colors and geometric shapes. Sequins are commonly used in clothing, jewelry, handbags, shoes and many other accessories. Sequins can be sewn flat to fabric, so they don't move, and are less likely to fall off; or they can be sewn only at one point, so they hang and move easily, to catch more light.
