What does «foco conjugado» mean in Spanish?
- In physics, each of the reciprocal positions that a luminous point and its focus occupy on the principal axis of a lens or a spherical focus. So called because the positions of the object and its image are interchangeable. If we consider a point source F in front of a spherical mirror and we suppose that the rays a' and b' are reflected rays of a and b; it is usually said that F' is the conjugate focus of F. This is reciprocal since if we consider F' as a luminous source it would have F as conjugate focus, so it can be said that the luminous focus with its conjugate focus are reciprocal.
