What does «cromoluminarismo» mean in Spanish?
- Impressionist school of painting, whose principle is not to mix the colors on the palette, but to spread them separately on the canvas. It is also known as divisionism and was developed together with pointillism. Chromoluminarism was a characteristic style of neo-Impressionist painting, defined by the separation of colors into individual dots or spots that interact optically. By requiring the viewer to combine colors optically rather than mix pigments physically, the Divisionists believed they achieved the maximum luminosity scientifically possible.
