What does «colores complementarios» mean in Spanish?
- Two lights are said to have complementary colors when when mixed together they produce white light; by analogy, dyes that when mixed together produce gray or black are called complementary. The colors of a pair of complementary dyes are not necessarily the same as those of a pair of lights that together give white, even if one of the dyes is the same color as one of the lights. In general, the colors of the other light and the other colorant differ markedly. This concept of complementary colors is widely used in classifications of colors and colorants and in the description of color applications.
