What does «colca» mean in Spanish?
- Ancient building where the indigenous people stored objects and food. The colcas, made of stone, were located in rows, usually on the slopes of the hills, in cool, high and ventilated places. Ruins of these structures can still be found in Huanuco Pampa (Huanuco), Cajamarquilla in the Rimac valley, Raqchi in Cuzco, Pachacamac Sanctuary, and along the towns located in the Colca valley and canyon.
