What does «acromatopsia» mean in Spanish?
- Also known as total color blindness or achromacy, it is a medical syndrome that has symptoms related to at least five conditions. The term can refer to acquired conditions such as cerebral achromatopsia, but typically refers to an autosomal recessive congenital color vision condition, the inability to perceive color and achieve satisfactory visual acuity in high levels of light, typically outdoor daylight. The syndrome is also present in an incomplete form that is more appropriately defined as dyschromatopsia. It is estimated to affect 1 in 30,000 live births worldwide.
