What does «ut supra» mean in Spanish?
- Latin expression used in certain documents to refer to a date, clause or phrase written above, and to avoid its repetition. With the Latin expression "ut supra", which literally means "as above", the author of a written text informs the reader that, at the point where the expression in question is inserted, a section of text identical to another that has been written previously is also to be considered inserted. The form is clearly archaic and is rarely used, even in written works that adopt a particularly solemn stylistic register.
- (fecha ut supra) Same date as the heading of a document.
