- Thundering or thundering; thunderous, thundering. Used as an epithet of the god Jupiter. That produces thunderous, booming, booming or loud noises similar to these. Also used figuratively to indicate that one speaks or acts with anger or violence. Said also of some mythological character that generates thunder, especially Jupiter, but applicable to other gods or beings.
