What does «purísima» mean in Spanish?
- Antonomastic name of the Virgin Mary given to her because of the mystery of her Immaculate Conception, as announced to her by the angel Gabriel (Lk 1:26-38 of the Bible) and also because of her own conception without the stain of original sin. The formulas "La Purísima" or "María Purísima" are usually used.
