What does «patizambo» mean in Spanish?
- It is applied to the one who has the legs abnormally twisted outwards and very close together the knees. This condition receives in medicine the name of Genu valgus. It is a deformity resulting from the thigh and leg deviated, in the frontal plane, forming an outward angle in the femoro-tibial diaphyseal axis (the angle that goes from the antero-superior iliac crest, passing through the patella to the ankle). Thus, when the affected individual is standing, the knees are drawn toward the midline, i.e., the heels of the feet are separated and the knees are together.
