What does «nostalgia» mean in Spanish?
- Grief at being absent from people or things dear to one's heart.
Examples of use in Spanish: "nostalgia de la patria"
"nostalgia de los amigos".
- A feeling of grief caused by the memory of a lost asset. Nostalgia was described for the first time in 1688 by the Swiss physician Johannes Hofer, when it was catalogued as a "neurological disease of essentially demonic causes", something questioned even by specialists of that time. The physician described the physical and psychological symptoms suffered by the soldiers of his country when they left their homes.
