What does «M.T.S.» mean in Spanish?
- System of measurements whose three fundamental units are the meter (length), the ton (mass) and the second (time). It was invented in France, and became its legal system between 1919 and 1961 ("Décret" May 5, 1961, "Official Gazette"). It was adopted by the Soviet Union in 1933 and abolished there in 1955. It was a system of metric units, both as SI and the centimeter-gram-second system (CGS), but with larger units for industrial use, while the CGS system was considered as suitable for laboratory use.
