What does «mormonismo» mean in Spanish?
- A collection of independent church groups from the religious sect founded in the United States by Joseph Smith in the late 1820s, which constitutes the "Latter-day Saints Church of Christ" and professed polygamy until 1890. Collectively, these churches have more than 16 million members. The vast majority of adherents - about 98% - belong to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and its predominant theology is, rightly, Mormonism. A minority of Latter-day Saint adherents, such as Community of Christ members, believe in traditional Protestant theology and have distanced themselves from some of the distinctive doctrines of Mormonism.
- Mormon doctrine that self-identifies as Christian.
