What does «jameo» mean in Spanish?
- Sunken ground where a volcanic conduit opens to the surface. It is the part of the tube of a volcano where the roof has collapsed under the weight or because of the accumulation of gases and behind which there is usually a circular cavity open to the light. Strictly speaking it is only the part of the cave where the roof has collapsed and not the rest of the volcanic tube or cave, although some extend its meaning.
