- A person involved in the business sector, particularly someone who undertakes activities (commercial or industrial) for the purpose of generating cash flow, sales and income using a combination of human, financial, intellectual and physical capital with a view to fostering economic development and growth. An entrepreneur is an example of a business person. The term "businessman/woman" may refer to the founder, owner or majority shareholder of a business enterprise; or it may characterize a senior executive who is responsible for the day-to-day management and direction of an enterprise even if that executive is not the owner. The term may sometimes refer to someone who plays a high-level management role in a corporation, firm, company, firm, organization or agency.
