What does «guardaganado» mean in Spanish?
- A pit covered with a series of parallel wooden, iron or concrete crossbeams, in the form of a grill, which is placed at the entrance to the ranches to allow the passage of light vehicles and prevent the passage of livestock. In Spain it is known as "paso canadiense". The usual width is between 2.50 and 3 m and the pit is up to 1 m. The distance between the parallel crossbeams is between 10 and 15 cm.
