What does «gozque» mean in Spanish?
- Small dog, especially one that barks a lot. Historically it referred to dogs raised by poor people; according to the dictionary Tesoro de Covarrubias (1611), they are "small dogs raised by poor and low people; short of legs, long of body and muzzle, annoying to the neighbors, annoying to the gallants, hated by thieves".
