What does «desafuero» mean in Spanish?
- Violent act, against the law or jurisdiction. Especially committed by an authority.
- Action that is against good morals or reason.
- Arbitrary act.
- An act that deprives a person of his or her privileges. It is a legal act by which a person with privileges is deprived of such privileges. Also called "juicio de procedencia", the desafuero is imposed when it is presumed and substantiated that the official has committed a crime, eliminating the restriction that prevents him/her from being tried.
