What does «cotuza» mean in Spanish?
- Animal similar to the guinea pig or guinea pig; also known as Central American agouti, guatusa, cherenga, ñeque. It can reach 50 cm in length; the color of its rough fur varies between brown and yellow; its shape is massive; its legs are thin and porcine, with three toes on the hind legs; small and rounded ears and a rudimentary tail. The cotuza is found from southern Mexico to Paraguay and in the West Indies; it usually builds its burrow at the foot of trees. It is a nocturnal animal.
