What does «año lectivo» mean in Spanish?
- The period or days of the year allowed for classes in an educational institution, which is usually less in days than a calendar year. It is also called the school year or academic year. The school year may be divided into semesters, trimesters or quarters. In general, in primary schools, secondary schools, tertiary schools and universities, the school year usually begins in March and ends in December in Latin America. In Europe, the school year begins in September and ends in June.
