What does «adiptongo» mean in Spanish?
- Meeting of two vowels that do not form a diphthong. It is also known as hiatus. In other words, it is a meeting of two vowels that cannot be pronounced as a continuum within the same syllable, thus separating the sounds into two distinct syllables. An intermediate letter "h" between vowels does not interrupt the adiptongo. There are two types of adiptongues: vowel and accentual.
