What does «tanza» mean in Spanish?
- Fishing rod line; strictly speaking it is the strong thread or rope that is tied at one end to the hook and at the other end to the rod line. Nowadays it can be made of nylon or steel; in the past, twisted horsehair was used. It is part of the tackle, which is the set formed by the fishing line, the weights and the hooks, which are tied to the fishing line of the rod, for fishing. By extension, the fishing rod line that is wound on a reel is called "tanza".
