♦ Used in: Chile - Common name for a shrub with edible berry, also known as patagua, pitra-pitra. Formerly used to make desserts. It grows in groups (pitrantos) in humid, swampy or flooded areas. It is common to find them next to the myrtles. It can also grow in arboreal form and reach 12 m in height. White flowers, fleshy fruit more bitter than the myrtle.
