What does «hipestesia» mean in Spanish?
- Decreased general sensitivity, usually tactile. Absent or reduced sensibility. Insensitivity may be thermal, painful (analgesia or hypoalgesia) or profound. Sometimes, it is associated with tingling sensations or other sensitivity disorders, called paresthesias, in an area of the body. Hypesthesia or hypoesthesia is usually the result of a problem of nervous origin such as nerve root involvement. It may be a symptom of diabetes, plaque sclerosis, demyelinating diseases, certain tumors or stroke, such as ischemic lesions.
