What does «hijo de familia» mean in Spanish?
- He who is under parental or guardianship authority (is under parental authority), and by extension, the adult who has not taken state (is unmarried) and continues to dwell in the house of his parents. For the child of the family, the family duties of respect, obedience, domicile, license to marry, etc., apply in their full extent; but he also benefits to the maximum from the protection of his parents, especially with regard to alimony in its broadest legal meaning.
Examples of use in Spanish: "El hijo de familia no podrá celebrar ningún acto o contrato sin la autorización de los padres o de la persona que en su defecto ejerza la administración".
