What does «estriación geológica» mean in Spanish?
- In structural geology, striation is the formation of linear grooves generated by the movement of a fault. The direction of the striation reveals the directions of movement on the fault plane. Similar striations called glacial striations can occur in areas subject to glaciation. Striations can also be caused by submarine landslides.
