- Religious or student of the Pious Schools. It is a Catholic order founded by St. Joseph Calasanz in 1597, when Calasanz opened a popular Christian school, which is recognized as the first free popular private school in Europe. It was formally founded on March 25, 1617 and then formally approved by the Church in 1622, after an arduous process of recognition.
