What does «acento métrico» mean in Spanish?
- Any accent that is relatively strong in its metrical context. The accent is one of the fundamental constituent elements of the verse and its rhythm, which, even if it has the corresponding measure, would be inharmonious if it were not accented on certain syllables. Also called accent of the verse or rhythmic accent.
- A higher tone that is impressed on a syllable distinguishing it from the rest of the word.
- The metrical accent is inherent to the rhythmic organization of music; it consists in the increase of the rhythmic intensity of a given musical measure.
