What does «vocoide» mean in Spanish?

In linguistics, an approximant sound that is the realization of a vowel that by itself does not form a syllable unless accompanied by another vowel that has syllabic value. A non-syllabic vocoid is a class that includes what were formerly called semivowels and semiconsonants.
