What does «vicecónsul» mean in Spanish?
- A person immediately below the consul, an official who exercises protection of persons and interests of one state in another. Sometimes the vice-consul works in towns of lesser importance to the interests of the country he represents: while the consul works in the capital of a country, the vice-consul may work in others. Also, in certain situations, the vice-consul may substitute for the consul. The vice-consul works in a vice-consulate.
