- (prócero, procero) Muscle of the face of man, better known as the procerus or pyramidalis muscle (Pyramidalis nasi or procerus nasi). It is located on the dorsum of the nose and between the eyebrows, below the frontalis muscle, separated by the aponeurotic line from its homonym on the opposite side. It is supplied by the facial nerve. Its function is to move the frontal skin downward, especially the eyebrows, generating the frown effect, generally showing anger, sadness and panic.
