What does «patache» mean in Spanish?
- Vessel that was formerly a war vessel, and was used in the squadrons to carry warnings, reconnoiter the coasts and guard the entrances to the ports. Today this vessel is only used in the merchant navy.
Examples of use in Spanish: "habiéndose reunido en el puerto de la Coruña una escuadra de 6 naves y un patache".
"En 1656 fabricó por asiento hasta seis galeones y un patache, sirviendo con ellos en la escuadra de Cantabria".
