What does «paragoge» mean in Spanish?
- The addition of some sound to the end of a word, usually a vowel. Sometimes it is also called epithesis or suffixation. It is usually used for customs and habits, in regionalisms, because of difficulty in pronouncing words borrowed from another language, but also for some reason as a rhetorical figure. As a figure of speech, it can be used as a sound effect, stylistic, to create rhyme, as a poetic license or to complete the metric.
