What does «número redondo» mean in Spanish?
- Approximate number, which expresses no more than the whole units of a certain order. Round numbers usually end in 0, such as: 10, 20, 30, 40, 40, 50, 60, ..., 100, 200, ... 1000, ... 10000, etc. Also, sometimes, those ending in 5 are considered round, although only within the hundred: 15, 25, 35, 45, 55, 65, 75, 85, 95.
Examples of use in Spanish: "iremos de vacaciones al Caribe cada vez que cumplamos un número redondo de años de casados".
"-¿Cuántas personas concurren al comedor comunitario? / -En números redondos, 500 al día".
