What does «guaycurú» mean in Spanish?
- An individual of one of the indigenous tribes established in the Gran Chaco and on the banks of the Paraguay River. This family includes the Mocovíes, Toba, Pilagás and Caduveos. The Spaniards gave them the name of frentones (Guaraní: toba) because of their custom of shaving the front part of their heads, thus giving them a wider forehead.
